Sunday is normally the only day of the week when we really have free time and can use it for slow cooking. I used to bake several times a week but now that we have a dog in the house Sundays tend to be my baking days. We spent a lot of time in the woods today and after a long day it was awesome to get a proper dinner with dessert.
This cake is a combination of smooth and sturdy: The chocolate base is fine and full of cacao flavor while the silk-smooth filling and topping balance the cake.
The cake consists of three layers: a crusty base, a sweet fudge heart and a pudding top layer.
